About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and analytical Freight Supervisor to lead freight operations, transportation cost control, and logistics process governance. This role combines team leadership, operational excellence, financial oversight, and continuous improvement to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics execution across inbound, outbound, premium freight, and platform activities.
The successful candidate will be the owner of freight-related processes, responsible for driving performance, improving cost visibility, strengthening invoice validation and financial controls, and ensuring logistics service providers meet contractual and operational expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Freight Support Specialist and ensure effective execution of daily transportation activities.
Manage freight forecasting, accruals, budget monitoring, cost reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Monitor and improve carrier and forwarder performance through KPIs and regular reviews.
Govern premium freight processes, approvals, cost tracking, and root cause analysis.
Own Platform & Sequencing cost management, including contract compliance, pricing validation, invoice verification, and variance analysis.
Develop and maintain logistics tracking tools to improve cost visibility and forecasting accuracy.
Coordinate with Finance to ensure proper invoice validation, approval workflows, and cost allocation.
Act as the main escalation point for freight-related operational and financial issues.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process efficiency, and service performance.
Collaborate closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Planning, and external logistics providers.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and logistics standards.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in transportation, freight management, logistics operations, or supply chain management.
Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and cost control.
Experience managing logistics service providers and transportation contracts.
Ability to analyze large datasets, identify cost drivers, and implement corrective actions.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP, TMS, Coupa, Power BI, or similar systems is an advantage.
Structured, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing operational priorities with strategic improvement initiatives.
Fluent in English and French.
